Forbes ranks EkoNiva among the largest private companies in Russia

For the first time, EkoNiva Group has been included in Forbes magazine's ranking of the 200 largest private companies in Russia. The list is published in the October issue of the Russian-language edition of the magazine.

According to the magazine's methodology, the list includes companies controlled by private individuals. It includes companies founded by foreigners in Russia and operating on the local market, as well as companies registered abroad but operating mainly in Russia. The companies are ranked according to their sales in 2020.

EkoNiva Group was founded in 1994 by German entrepreneur Stefan Dürr. He started consulting on German-Russian cooperation in the field of agricultural policy and trade in imported agricultural equipment.

Today the Ekoniva "family" consists essentially of two independent groups of companies. Ekosem-Agrar Group is the largest producer of raw milk in Russia and Europe. The Group's dairy farming business unit includes 40 modern dairy cow facilities. In 2020, the Group produced nearly 925,000 tons of raw milk, up 22% from the previous year. According to the industry association Soyuzmoloko, in 2020 EkoNiva accounted for 5.8% of the total Russian commercial raw milk production. Ekotechnika Group is now one of the largest dealers of foreign agricultural machinery in Russia.

Stefan Duerr has lived and worked permanently in Russia for 25 years. In 2013, he received the Russian citizenship.
